Tangerine oil could be soothing to the nervous system. It is beneficial to the digestive system, helping with flatulence, diarrhea and constipation and is a useful tonic for the skin and could help with stretch marks.

It is an oil that can help with the digestive system, reducing fluid retention, soothing the nervous system and is a skin tonic.

 

The true essential oil helps to cheer, inspire, and strengthen.   Tangerine helps ease tension, fear, sadness, irritability, and insomnia.  Added to Massage Oil, tangerine helps relax cramped muscles.  The essential oil is good remedy for premenstrual syndrome, and may be beneficial in treating stomach, liver, and gallbladder problems.    Tangerine oil supports the lymphatic, circulatory,  immune and digestive systems. The sweet, comforting aroma of Tangerine promotes feelings of tranquility when inhaled, and can be applied topically to oily skin.  The oil assists against water retention, cellulite and parasites. Tangerine oil is similar to orange oil, though it has its own unique fragrance. Tangerine also maintains healthy digestive processes when massaged into the stomach in a clockwise direction. You can massage with properly diluted tangerine to help reduce scars and stretch marks. This takes some time, however and will require patience and consistency. Like other citrus oils, this essential oil may be phototoxic; do not use on skin exposed to direct sunlight   There is a one year shelf life.

Origin of Tangerine oil:

It is a native of China but was taken to Europe in 1805 and a little later to America, who now is a large producer of this oil.

A difference between Tangerines and Mandarins are the fact that Tangerines are harvested around November while Mandarins are harvested around February. Tangerines are also deeper orange in color where Mandarins are more yellow. Tangerines do not have pips, Mandarins do.
