The oil is very effective against insomnia and can sooth restlessness and impatience. The oil is useful in the treatment of aches and pains in muscles and joints. Chamomile is a particularly safe oil and can be used (once diluted) with young children and sensitive individuals. Usage: To relax after a hard day add ten drops to a warm bath, or diluted with a carrier oil chamomile makes an ideal oil for a soothing scalp massage. Origin of German Chamomile oil: Cultivated in France, Morocco and Spain, German chamomile is similar to Roman chamomile, just with smaller flowers and fewer petals. Derived from the Greek word meaning 'ground apple' and the Latin word 'nobilis', referring to a noble flower, it certainly is a plant of many uses To the Egyptians it was a herb dedicated to the sun to cure fevers and to the moon for its cooling ability. Extraction: Roman Chamomile extracted from the flowers by steam distillation. The Roman Chamomile yields 0.2-0.4% from fresh flowers. The plant is extensively grown in central and Eastern Europe.
